Three Days of Magic at Ballymaloe House
Three days. That’s how long Vella and John’s friends and family had to soak up Ireland in all its glory, and we made sure every moment was unforgettable. From guided cliff walks along the wild Atlantic coast to whiskey tastings and a couple of perfectly poured pints of Guinness, their guests got to experience the best of Irish hospitality without worrying about a single detail. As their wedding planners, we designed and managed the entire celebration so everyone could simply arrive, relax, and enjoy the experience of a true destination wedding in Ireland.
And then came the wedding day……
Guests slipped through a little wooden gate into Ballymaloe’s walled garden, each handed a scroll and welcomed with the soft ring of a bell. An Irish harp carried through the air as everyone gathered, creating a quiet sense of magic before the ceremony began. Vella and John’s close friend led them through their vows, while others sang, played guitar, and shared poetry. It was heartfelt, creative, and entirely their own.
The celebrations rolled effortlessly from one moment to the next. Cocktails on the front lawn of Ballymaloe House were paired with its legendary food, followed by a lively céilí that had everyone spinning, laughing, and dancing their way across to the Grainstore, led by traditional Irish musicians.
Dinner was a feast of seasonal flavours, and when plates were cleared, the party didn’t stop. Friends wandered out into the gardens, following the sound of a trumpet through the twilight, before heading back to the Grainstore to dance the night away. And because their beloved cats couldn’t travel from LA, we made sure they were still part of the fun with giant cut outs of their faces making an appearance on the dance floor. Cue laughter, photos, and a few questionable dance moves with cardboard cats in tow.
For Vella and John, it wasn’t just a wedding. It was three days of joy, music, and connection, a true Irish destination wedding brought to life with attention to detail and creativity.
